Health, Safety & Environment Policy (HSE)
The Health and Safety of our People and Environment Protection is our Highest Priority. It is the Company policy that all activities both shipboard and ashore are conducted as a priority, and with the Health and Safety of our employees including all other personnel that we work with being paramount.
We are committed toward promoting the awareness of, protecting and conserving the environment.
Health, Safety and Environment management objectives of Equitel Resources Limited are:
- To provide for safe practices in ship operation and a safe working environment to the highest standard;
- Prevention of discharge of oil, oily water, garbage and other contaminants into the sea;
- Establish safeguards against identified risks; and
- Continuously improve safety management skills of personnel ashore and aboard ships, including preparing for emergencies related both to safety and environmental protection.
These objectives are achieved by:
- Maintaining high standards of health and safety consciousness, personal discipline and individual accountability by adherence to a documented training system;
- Actively promoting employee participation in measures aimed at improving safety and protecting the environment;
- Keeping all personnel fully informed of any known or potential hazards that may affect each individual, their colleagues, the ship or the environment, by transmittal of pertinent documents;
- Ensuring adherence at all times to the documented operating procedures by a system of internal verification of procedures and activities; and
- Continuously reviewing all mandatory rules, regulations and industry codes and guidelines that are relevant to specific vessel types and trades.
The CEO of Equitel Resources Limited is fully committed to the attainment of the Safety and Pollution Prevention Policy, and expects the management and staff of Equitel Resources Limited, on-board and ashore, equally to commit the Policy.
Equitel Resources Limited ensures that the policy is implemented and maintained at all levels of the organization both ship and shore based, through the HSE Plan.
